I am Better Being "ME"

US Magazine the news international poet's corner pic

This muddy street is my ground!
These bricks are my wickets
This broken bat is my everything, I own
I don't crave for anything
For I am happy with what I have!
For I am happy with what I have!
For I am not a Baron Rothschild!
Who needs a stadium to play
Who requires meals thirty times a day
I am just a slum child
Who is here to play!

My life started with miseries,
hunger cradled me,
and poverty grew me up,
It rolls with little happy moments
With a little bat in my hand
And a chum in sight
I swing my bat with all might
I love to see the ball soaring high in the sky,
Going out of sight!
I don't crave for anything!
For I am happy with what I have!
For I am not a Baron Rothschild!
I am just a slum child.

I cheer with my dear ones
They smile, I laugh!
They tease, I please
We scream and dream!
I wish, someday I would eat an ice cream!
That's my little life, little moments,
Little memories, which save me from torments!

Still ...

I don't crave for anything!
I am happy with what I have!
I am not a Baron Rothschild!
For I am
JUST A SLUM CHILD!
